My son loves all things Star Wars, and he was so excited about these cookies.
We made them along with some other Star Wars crafts for kids to celebrate May the Fourth.
How to Make Darth Vader Cookies
Once I figured out how I had everything I needed to make these adorable Star Wars inspired cookies, I couldn’t wait to get started.

Ingredients & Supplies Needed to Make Darth Vader Cookies
Directions for Making Star Wars Cookies
Step 1
Roll out your chilled sugar cookie dough. Use the bell cookie cutter to cut out the bell shapes.
Step 2
Use a knife to trim the top part of the bell created by the bell cookie cutter and the clapper area on the bottom.
Step 3
Now, it’s time to bake your cookies! Bake them according to your recipe.
Sugar Cookie Tip: Freeze for 5-10 minutes before baking to help the cookies hold their shape inside the oven.
Step 4
Once the cookies are done, set them on racks to cool completely.
Use the black royal icing to pipe an outline around Darth Vader’s head.
Step 5
Flood the piped outline with black icing.
Allow to dry.
Step 6
Add Darth Vader’s helmet details with the white royal icing.

Ingredients
- Batch of favorite sugar cookie dough, chilled
- Black royal icing
- White royal icing
- Knife
- Bell cookie cutter
- Cookie sheet
- Wire rack
Instructions
- Roll out chilled sugar cookie dough.
- Use bell cookie cutter to cut out cookies.
- With a knife, trim the top and bottom of each bell to resemble Darth Vader’s helmet shape.
- Bake according to cookie directions.
- Cool on a wire rack.
- With black royal icing, pipe around the outside of the helmet shape.
- Fill in the piping with a flood of black icing.
- Let dry.
- Add white outline and helmet details.
